All of our direct care staff are recruited and selected to match the individuals they are working with. This creates the best environment for support and quality care. We have retained a very high proportion of our staff over the years and this has been great for consistency of support and building relationships. Our staff also:

  • Receive paid, certified training via online modules;
  • On-the-job induction and paid “buddy” shifts (as required);
  • Workplace First Aid training (the cost of the course reimbursed by BGSR on application);
  • Paid attendance at Manutention / Safe Manual Handling training;
  • Paid attendance at other training events as part of their Performance Development;
  • Are provided with 24 hour support as required to perform their duties;

If you are interested in being a disability support worker in Perth with BGSR you will need the following:

  •   Current (within the last 12 months) National Police Clearance;
  •   Certificate 3 in Disability (or equivalent) – highly regarded;
  •   A basic Medical or fitness to work from your GP;
  •   6 months local (within Australia) experience in the Disability sector
